From The Carterton Lions' Den
Spring 2016 has been a busy one for your Lions' Club in Carterton!
What are SWELs?
SWELs are Seniors With Energetic
Lifestyles – and over 100 of our lovely
Carterton SWELs came along to
their annual party in April. Superb
entertainment was provided by the
Synergy Variety Group and a delicious
tea was supplied by the Lions leading to
a super afternoon had by all.
Our fittest people needed help too. We
were at the Carterton 10K to organise
the parking and we have provided funds
for the excellent Under 14 Girls' Football
team to take part in a local tournament.
Talking of youngsters – several children
from Carterton attend the very special
Springfield School in Witney and we
have been really pleased to help them
by sponsoring a trip and buying a Story
Sack. And the Children's Centre in
Carterton will be taking their little ones
to the seaside in August – thanks to a
donation from your Lions!
Don't forget the monthly Car Boot Sales
on the Recreation Ground on the last
Saturday of each month. They are in aid
of a different charity each time so you
have an extra reason to come and buy or
to clear out your clutter.
