From The Carterton Lions’ Den
For the Lions of Carterton,
2016 has begun with a roaring success!
Did you visit our Art Exhibition in February?
Over 640 people came to the event
and if you missed it, then you missed a treat…
Over 180 superb paintings and sculptures
were on view and for sale – the vast
majority from our own local residents.
They know how to put the art in Carterton!
Meanwhile, the display of artworks from six of our local primary schools and from
the Burford and Carterton Colleges was just magnificent. What talent we have here
in West Oxfordshire! During the exhibition, we asked every visitor to vote for their
favourite artwork. When the votes were counted the winner was local artist, Hannah
Johnson, with her superb picture of a Cocker Spaniel called “Blackbird”.
Our Car Boots are well underway. If you want the best bargains, and if you want
to clear the clutter, then “The Friendly Boot Sales” are the places to be on the last
Saturday of each month between 8.30am and 12 noon.
Alongside these we will be undertaking the car parking at the Carterton 10k, helping to
set up the annual Save the Children May Day Fair, having a Club Quiz and Chilli night,
visiting Bletchley Park, going for some meals out and generally enjoying ourselves!
