Friday 7th February 2014
LGBT History Month will be showcasing music with a FREE concert in
collaboration with Morley College on the 7th of February. This fantastic event will be
part of the Month and will include performances from the Diversity Choir, the Hertfordshire
Chorus performing a commission celebrating Alan Turing, and a performance from poet Dean Atta,
as well as other special guests. This event is free but online booking is essential. To learn more go to
lgbthistorymonth.org.uk and navigate to the events page.
The Concert launches a Project entitled Educate OUT Prejudice at Morley College; part of its Education
Toolkit. It is based on the principle that all learners should be free to learn in an environment where
they and staff feel comfortable about sexual orientation and gender identities, although this is not always
the case. This project will offer practical solutions to support the inclusion of LGB and/or T themes into
the adult ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) curriculum. Further details about the project
can be found here
