Caring
Support
before a crisis point
Little Troopers (formerly known as My Daddy is a
Soldier Adventures) is a registered charity supporting all
children with parent(s) serving in the regular or reserve
British Army, Royal Navy or Royal Air Force, it is the first
tri-service children’s charity specifically supporting the
unique daily challenges faced by UK military children, of
which there is in excess of 162,000.
British Armed Forces families can
be repeatedly separated for varying
lengths of time for many reasons, it
may be operations, exercises, courses
or other service commitments.
Whatever the reasons, Little Troopers
ensures, no matter where they are
based, forces families have tools and
resources they can use to remain
connected and bonded throughout
separation.
We help service children explore
the destination of where the absent
parent has gone and help offer a
distraction to their current family
situation, as well as supplying comfort,
support and understanding.
As a charity Little Troopers provides
fundamental resources to ease and aid
forced separation periods between
serving personnel and child such as
Separation Packs which include chuff
charts, a world map, stickers and a
postcard pack.
Parents can access printable
certificates to give to children who
have been brave through a separation
period. There’s also our Birthday
Scheme; sign up your Little Troopers
to receive a personalised card and
badge on their birthday.
Moreover, Little Troopers Treasures is
an initiative from the charity providing
various tools to families to stay linked
even though divided by miles.
Little Troopers runs various events
across the year for military families.
Summer Adventure Camp for all
the family (this year taking place on
18th & 19th June) and our bi-annual
Snowdon Challenge are just a couple
of the events that take place; children
benefit from being with others in a
similar situation and parents find they
reconnect with their Little Troopers.
