Carterton U3A
Carterton U3A is a non-political and non-religious organisation.
U3A is quite frankly a modern version of the over sixties club. One of the
differences being it’s 50+. Our members range in ages, but what we all
have in common is a love of life, and a sense of self-worth. Many people can
become isolated without even realising it. U3A enriches your life; there are
new friendships to be made and new hobbies to take up.
We have 25 hobby groups from steam engines, gardening, stitch and sew,
walking, local history tours, Sunday lunch group, fun with wine, cards (usually
held at the pub), social evenings, our last being a fish and chip supper with
live folk music, to day trips to places of interest.
We meet at the community centre on Shilton Park on the last Tuesday of
every month at 2pm. We have a different speaker every month covering
many subjects. Afterwards it's tea, coffee, biscuits and a good chat, as well
as the opportunity to join a hobby group if you would like to.
