What’s On
The Reading Agency and Libraries Present:
The Big Friendly Read
Until 17th September
Are you ready for a marvellous, splendiferous and mischievous reading
challenge at your local library this summer?
Until 17th September children across Oxfordshire can celebrate 100 years
of the world’s greatest storyteller Roald Dahl with The Big Friendly Read,
Summer Reading Challenge 2016.
Children will be encouraged to read at least six library books of their choice
over the summer holidays. There will be six stupendous Quentin Blake
illustrated cards to collect – some are even smelly! Complete the challenge
and they’ll get their own medal and certificate.
Join up at your library. It’s fun! It’s free! It’s local!
Look out for fantastic new books and fantabulous activities at the library
throughout the summer holidays. There’s a website and an App to add to the
fun too!
(Pssst…there is also a reading challenge for adults, A Midsummer Night’s Read.)
