A centre for
all
the community
Carterton Community Centre opened
its doors in October 2008. Now
well into our seventh year, we are
continuing to be seen as a hub of
activity within the local area, hosting
all kinds of events and providing
a fantastic facility for the whole
community. We have an excellent
choice of rooms available for hire at
very affordable prices.
The Community Centre has a Main
Hall which seats up to 200 people
theatre style (there is a stage, lighting
& sound). The Small Hall seats up to 50
theatre style. Further meeting rooms
and offices are also available.
We host a variety of events and often
work in partnership with local groups.
Every year we work alongside The
Carterton Lions by hosting their annual
art exhibition. As a perfect opportunity
for local artists to display their talent,
the exhibition is extremely popular and
hugely successful.
Once again the Carterton Community
Centre will be sponsoring the
Carterton Winter Lights Project. We
are working with West Oxfordshire
District Council to provide a weekend
of free lantern making workshops at
the Community Centre on Saturday 7
November & Sunday 8 November from
10am-4pm, so that families can come
together to make amazing lanterns
ready for the winter lights procession
on Friday 27 November. You can drop
in anytime during opening hours,
receive expert guidance from our
professional artist if needed, and make
use of the free materials to create your
lanterns.
The café will be open for light
refreshments with proceeds going to
St John the Evangelist Primary School,
Shilton Park, Carterton.
We still have our annual Christmas
Craft & Gift Fair to look forward to.
This year it will be on Saturday 28
November from 10am-4pm. Over 30
fantastic stalls will be selling beautiful
and unique handcrafted items and
other Christmas gift ideas. Admission
is free and the café will be open. Pick
up some great presents in time for
Christmas, then relax in the café with a
hot drink and something to eat.
