WE’RE LOOKING FOR PEOPLE
FROM
ALL BACKGROUNDS
WHO WANT TO CONTRIBUTE
TO
HELP THE COMMUNITY
AND SAVE LIVES
CAMBRIDGESHIRE Fire and Rescue Service is
proud of being a modern and forward thinking
organisation which is working hard to remove the
typical stereotypes of what a firefighter should be.
People often think the fire and rescue service is all
about putting out fires and rescuing people from
road crashes. Think again!
At Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service,
the men and women on the frontline deliver
important fire safety advice to dozens of different
communities. From visiting schools to care homes,
mother and toddler groups to LGBT history
events and community fetes, our firefighters
play an integral role in keeping your community
safe. That’s why it’s so important that our staff
represent those communities they’re serving.
We want to attract enthusiastic women and men
from a wide range of backgrounds who have
a passion for helping their communities and
show the potential to become professional and
competent firefighters.
Being a firefighter is not like any other job. It can
be unpredictable, exciting and rewarding coupled
with the satisfaction and respect that comes
with providing a crucial service to your local
community.
Successful applicants will be trained to carry
out rescue operations including fire fighting, but
an increasing part of the role is focused around
working in the community, educating people to
prevent incidents from happening in the first
place.
To continue driving forward, we need men and
women from all cultural and social backgrounds to
reflect the community that we serve.
