can be bought cheaply from eBay or other online
shops. You can also buy them from specialist
online shops such as T-Kingdom or F2M
Binders. There may be a small import charge,
but the extra comfort is worth the expense.
Style
There are a range of different colours,
fastenings and styles to choose from. Quite
popular are Velcro fastened ones, which allow
you to tighten it or make it looser depending on
how you feel. There are also front fastening ones
which are easy to get in and out on. The extra
head generated by a binder can also be an issue for
some, and so a binder that stops at the check may
be a better option, although full chest binders
that can be tucked into your underwear are
also available
Only for trans men?
Wanting a flatter chest is not just the
domain of the trans man. A lot of
genderqueer people also prefer the
de-feminising effects of a good binder
and there are also plenty of cis women
who simply bind because they feel more
comfortable. If you want to try then the
best advice is to buy a few cheap binders to
find the size and style which suits you before
investing in an expensive one.
Don’t forget that Fyne.co.uk now has a trans
section if you want to find out more about the
news and issues within the community.
