Soraya Mohammadi (Iranian writer of prose
and poetry), members of Freedom from
Torture’s Write to Life group, will read from
their work, about leaving their home countries
and their experience as refugees seeking asylum

the practice of Female Genital Mutilation.
This thought-provoking event will provide
space for nuanced debates about FGM
featuring the expertise of Afrocentric and
black feminist analyses.
