Lions lay 21st EGG
2014 is the 21st year that the Witney Lions Club has presented the Elms
Day Centre in Witney with a giant Easter egg for them to raffle. Proceeds
from the raffle go into their funds to help with the running of the centre.
Centre manager John Blake said the centre, which is part of Leonard
Cheshire Disability, is an activity and skills group which helps people to
get out and about. They can take part in exercise classes, join in various
activities or just spend quality time with others, which can make a real
difference to their lives. A wide range of people use the centre including
people with physical disabilities, learning disabilities and older people.
John said “We really appreciate our annual giant Easter egg from the
Witney Lions Club. The raffle proceeds all go into our voluntary funds
to provide extra activities and Muriel Alexander, wife of Lion David
Alexander, has presented the egg on behalf of the club for the last
seventeen years.”
