Bride & Groom: Chloe & Rudy | Wedding Location: Mansion Overlooking New York’s Hudson River
“ Rudy and I were married on October 13th back in 2012 at
a historic mansion overlooking New York’s Hudson River. Our
wedding planning was anything but easy, but turned out
to be the most perfect day we could have asked for. I went
back and forth but ultimately chose to wear a white lace
dress and I loved it. I added black accessories to still keep an
alternative flair, and wore a pair of very comfortable black
and white doc martens underneath (the best decision that
I could have made!). Also halfway throughout the wedding I
switched to a black dress, Jeffrey Campbell spiked heels and
a leather harness. Rudy wore a Shrine of Hollywood jacket
with various other black brocade and floral printed items.
Our wedding was almost entirely Diy. Each table had its own
horror or Goth themed couple, Beetlejuice and Lydia, Morticia
and Gomez, Frankenstein and his bride to name a few. I filled
apothecary jars with items that represented those couples
as well as a photograph of them in a baroque frame on each

table. I specially asked for black chairs to be rented instead
of white ones and black table cloths with dark red and purple
napkins. I lined the isle with black and white decorated
pumpkins. I hand made my bouquet, my bridesmaid’s
bouquets and all the boutineers with a combination of
origami flowers, feather flowers, fabric flowers and other
miscellaneous things. I walked down the aisle to Rammstein,
our first dance was to Stone Sour, and our wedding party
did a choreographed dance to The Monster Mash! We had
a square 3 tiered cake made for us with what we called
‘ghost webs’ and some black dripping and other details, we
topped it with a skeleton wedding couple that I hand painted
to match our hair and outfits. All and all everything came
together wonderful. One of the highlights of the day was
watching my family dance to the music of my choosing, and
watching everyone have a great time! “
