Ziggy Stardust
The life of Ziggy Stardust is not well documented and there are many legends
and rumours surrounding the details of his life. It is thought that he was born
and raised in the Canals of Mars. When he came to earth sometime in the
early 70s, he took the human form of a thin man with red, spiky hair and also
appeared to have one blue eye and one brown. At the time he arrived on earth,
the population had just learned that their limited resources were being used at
an alarming rate and that the world had five years left before every human faced
certain death.
Ziggy himself was a keen (left handed)
guitarist and singer. However, in the
current climate, rock and roll was
not popular. The children had
many other things to occupy
themselves. All the older people
were so shocked by the coming
end of the world that the kids
could plunder anything they
wanted to keep themselves
amused. Plus there is a
limited electricity
supply to play re cords
on anyway. But Ziggy
and his band, the
Spiders from Mars,
decide to try and put
news stories into
their songs to become more popular. But
all the news is bad, so this plan failed
miserably.
However, one night Ziggy had
a dream. He dreamt that a few
members of a black-hole jumping
tribe, the Invisible Infinites, tell
him to take on the persona
of a saviour and prophecies
about a starman coming
from space to save them.
Ziggy instantly went to
work writing songs of
inspiration, offering
people some hope to
cling to and trying to
inspire peace in the last
five years left.
