Coming Up at St David's Hall!
THERE’S a fab feast of entertainment in store at St David’s Hall
with everything from cracking comedy and dazzling dancing to a few
household names in the music world!
If you’ve never visited the National Concert Hall of Wales before, you’re in for a real treat as
there’s a special something for all Fyne Times readers to enjoy.
What better way is there to get your groove on than A Night of Dirty Dancing (Saturday 5
March)? No film has captured the hearts of a generation like the 80s classic, and the greatest
movie soundtrack of all time provides the perfect preview to a night on the tiles.
Talking of dancing, they don’t come much bigger than the world renowned Riverdance (Friday 1 -
Sunday 3 April), which celebrates its 21st anniversary in style with three nights at the Hall. Ever
since a jawdropping performance at the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin, the legendary
franchise has been seen live by over 25 million people across the globe and a staggering 2 billion
on TV! There’s a different kind of dancing too with The Dreamboys (Friday 27 May), who return
with their hottest show yet!
There’s magnificent music too with former Westlife singer Shane Filan (Wednesday 9 March)
in support of his latest solo album Right Here. Plus, Rick Astley (Wednesday 13 April) is back
belting out the hits including his chart-topping single Never Gonna Give You Up. Another 80s
pop icon Jason Donovan (Friday 6 May) will perform a Greatest Hits set and his classic album Ten
Good Reasons in its entirety. But if you prefer your music with a bit more of a rock edge, we’ve got
that covered too with Killer Queen (Saturday 21 May) where you can experience the incredible
energy of Freddie Mercury’s live shows.
Elsewhere, there’s superb stand-up from Sandi Toksvig (Thursday 10 March) with her Politically
Incorrect tour, whilst Julian Clary (Saturday 16 April) celebrates 30 years on the comedy circuit
with another night of outrageous humour.
