Rescue
Location
Covering Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, we
operate from 27 fire stations, some crewed 24/7 and
the majority “on-call”. Headquarters functions
and our Combined Fire Control are based in
Huntingdon.
Remit
Together our 644 staff work as one team to achieve
our vision of a safe community where there are
no preventable deaths or injuries in fires or other
emergencies.
As well as providing an emergency response
service, we also work in the community to prevent
fires, support business premises to apply safety
standards and work with a host of partners to
improve community safety overall.

Salary Range and Benefits
Salaries for wholetime firefighters start at £22,000
as a trainee (2015) rising to £29,000 on successful
completion of probationary training. Salaries for
support and management posts vary with level
of responsibility and are always detailed in job
adverts.
