Promoting conservation in
the Great British Countryside
Saturday at the forthcoming CLA Game Fair at
Blenheim Palace on 18-20 July, willl be focused on
promoting the valuable conservation work that is
carried out in the British countryside.
Conservation Saturday aims to bring all of the
organisations, associations and people involved in
conservation in the countryside together to promote the
benefits of conservation, to raise its profile and increase
knowledge and understanding of this vital work.
Organisations such as the Game and Wildlife
Conservation Trust, the British Association for Shooting
and Conservation as well as individuals such as
gamekeepers, surveyors, fieldsports participants
and volunteers will be involved in promoting their
conservation work and achievements.
In addition, conservation themed presentations will
be given throughout Conservation Saturday in the CLA
Game Fair Theatre, which is being run in association
with Strutt & Parker.
Awareness will also be raised about the significant
role played by conservation volunteers and advice
will be available to encourage more volunteers to get
involved at a variety of different levels.
Andrew Crawford, Director of the CLA Game Fair,
commented: “We are delighted to announce the launch
of Conservation Saturday at the 2014 CLA Game Fair
and believe it will be a great opportunity for those
working in conservation to showcase what they do,
promote the importance of their work and increase
awareness of the benefits that conservation brings to
the Great British countryside. We also want to flag up
the superb work done by the country’s conservation
volunteers who make a huge and lasting contribution in
this vitally important area.”
