Do we still need manners or is being nice enough?
Is a Code of Etiquette “required” or “just a guideline anyway”

Our goal is to educate each girl, boy, woman and man, the importance of
etiquette, manners and protocol in today’s modern society and to teach
them how to move easily from an informal to formal situations.
We operate in Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Hampshire and provide short
Etiquette courses, workshops and seminars to Schools, Universities
and Businesses, as well as the public sector.
We run a unique Learn to Lead programmme that helps equip children
with the right tools to approach and tackle problems. It teaches them
about the qualities required for leadership and the School gives them
every opportunity and support in practising them. It also includes our
summer expeditions that all Year 3-8 pupils enjoy and which are great
fun!
Last term we enjoyed the Chemical Extravaganza where the children
dazzled specators by walking on custard, hydrogen bubbles and flame
tests.
We recently launched a new Aspire Project – introducing children to a
range of professional art and design practice. We have had a visit from
a Woodcarver, an Enviormental Artist and a Glass Artist - most recently
the children designed and built a sculpture out of live Willow that is now
planted in the Secret Garden.
Last year the children designed and programmed and produced an App
for the school and the Year 5s designed and made computer games.

And we continue to achieve a 100% success rate of placing children
into their first choice of senior school, securing over 13 scholarships
last year to top schools including Radley and Oundle.
We were delighted our recent ISI report in 2013 reinforced the
postitive feedback we get from current students and parents. “The
quality of the pupils’ achievements and learning is excellent” and
“Parents particularly appreciate the family feel of the school’.
When I step down at the end of next year, Emma Goldsmith will be the
new Head from September 2014. Emma is a passionate educationalist

Winchester House, she is also a qualified English teacher and has
spent the past six years as Sole Deputy Head at Bloxham School.
For other examples what we have been up to, please see our recent
newsletter at
or come to our Open Morning

chance to show you around the school.
Winchester House School is a busy, thriving
