Small Business Saturday
Small Business Saturday
UK is a non-commercial
campaign to encourage
consumers to shop
local and support small
businesses in their
communities.
Carterton Christmas Market was to
celebrate Small Business Saturday
2015. The event was planned on behalf
of the Town Council by myself, the
Town Mayor- Cllr Lynn Little, and a big
thank you to the many other lovely
people (Julian Carlin, Melvin Long &
Phil Lewis to name a few!) who wanted
to help to make this event a success.
Lynn and I went to the Bus Tour to get
a feel of what Small Business Saturday
is all about. It was lovely to meet some
of the team behind Small Business
Saturday UK and I will be holding
Tom Flynn, Project Manager at Small
Business Saturday UK, to his word of
bringing the Small Business Saturday
Bus Tour 2016 to Carterton!
Carterton Christmas Market was a
similar set up to Shop Carterton Day
in the respect that we had businesses
that set up stalls on the Market Square
and shops in the Town Centre had
offers on. Although Storm Desmond
made the day a little more hard work
than anticipated for the stall holders,
it didn’t stop members of the public
from coming out to support the
businesses. The Town Council gave
away more Shop Carterton Bags
to select shops which were a great
success. I’m really looking forward to
next year’s events already!
