Essex Pride – More than
just a huge party
Essex Pride is an annual celebration of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual &
Transgender (LGBT) life in Essex and beyond. The 2014 event is
on Sunday 6 July, midday until late, at Central Park in Chelmsford.
Essex Pride is more than just a huge party. It inspires our
community to embrace equality. It demonstrates that local
organisations and businesses, along with thousands of friends,
can join together to celebrate diversity.
The Showcase arena will be open from 12 noon until 6pm
and will feature local government organisations, local
charities, businesses, support services and fun for any ages.
In the outdoor arena, you can browse the community
stalls and market area, grab something to eat, have a few
drinks and enjoy the funfair. You can also sit and watch
the great acts on the main stage. Announced so far is
Saski, Nina Ambrose, The Drag with No Name and
many more. Entry is just £5 with a wristband.

South Cambridgeshire District
Council is committed to eliminating
discrimination and prejudice, and
developing a culture, which values
difference, both in employment and
service delivery.
Our commitment to equalities is
based on the idea of equal life
chances. We recognise that the
potential for isolation can be far
higher in communities such as South
Cambridgeshire where the rural
nature of our community adds to the
potential for disadvantage to people.
We have worked hard to ensure that our LGBT staff and
LGBT communities are valued and respected and above
all have a voice in our vibrant and evolving district.
