many cultural changes and legal advances
made since the partial decriminalisation
of homosexuality in 1967, our schools
are the last bastion of the homophobe.
Homophobic, biphobic and transphobic
bullying is still rife, for pupils and staff, and
teachers are the only public sector employees
who receive little or no training in equality
and diversity as part of their training.
The majority of hate crime generally is
carried out by, and inflicted upon, those
either still in education, or who have just
left it, which implies that there is something
very rotten in the British education system.
LGBT History Month is one of the many
initiatives designed to eradicate ignorance by
useualising lives that are already all around
us.
LGBT History Month
became a charity in
February of this year.
Diversity is important.
Please support the
charity and help them
train staff and educate
children about it.
