Transgender Remembrance Day
20th November
TDoR is held every year to remember those who lost their lives as
a result of transphobia, whether it be through murder or suicide.
Founded in 1998, TDoR is observed in over 185 cities in more than 20
countries and services often involves reading the list of names of those
who have lost their lives in the last year.
LGBT History Month Launch Event
18th November, The Museum of the Order of St John 5:45-8:45
LGBT History Month might be a few months and a whole winter
away, but every November a fantastic launch event takes place, often
in quite an eccentric venue! This year is no different and this year,
the Museum of St John in London is the host. Given that the theme
of this year’s LGBT History Month aims to uncover some hidden
histories, it seems rather apt that one of the capitol’s hidden treasures
is the venue.

World AIDS Day
1st December
The 1st December is a day when worldwide, people take a moment
to remember the victims of AIDS and wear the red ribbon to show
their support to the fight against the illness. Around 100,000 people
are currently living with AIDS, many of them in countries where vital
life-preserving drugs are not available. The condition is still widely
misunderstood, even here in the UK, and awareness is still a vital task.
