Wychwood Festival Celebrating 10th Anniversay
Having been nominated for Best Family Festival every
year at the UK Festival Awards, Britain’s most loved
family festival, Wychwood, will once again be taking
residence at its’ home of Cheltenham Racecourse in
Gloucestershire from 30th May to 1st June.
For one weekend Wychwood will celebrate ten years
of family, folk and world music from across the globe,
with over 100 bands across four stages. Not only this
but there will be a plethora of workshops for all ages,
including literature for the kids, real ale for the adults,
mouthwatering food, yoga, crafts, comedy, plus more.
All set in the idyllic, relaxing and natural beauty of the
Prestbury Hills in the Gloucestershire countryside.
To kick off an exceptional 10th Birthday of magnificent
musical memories, the sounds of soul legends The Real
Thing will be leading the festivities on the Friday night.
Meanwhile heritage favourites The Levellers plus The
Stranglers headline the weekend along with Irish New
Wave band The Boomtown Rats complete with Sir Bob
Geldof. Feel god folk singer Newton Faulkner and funk,
disco and soul guru Craig Charles who is back by popu-
lar demand are completing an already impressive array
to please all tastes.
Wychwood’s folk roots will also be also be showcased
by four-piece band Polly and the Billets Doux and folk
rock band Merry Hell who will bring the distinctive
denre-defying sound to the heart of the festival. The
Big Top hosted by London promoters Smashing Blouse
will be showcasing the best up and coming artists in-
cluding Bipolar Sunshine, Wolf Alice, Benin City and
Glitches.
Also featuring at Wychwood is an extensive Comedy
programme and for late night revellers, the Headphone
Disco will open its doors to the best of sing-along clas-
sics and dancing anthems each night.
With an innovative and pioneering programme to de-
light those that lust over indie, folk, rock and world
music, including some of the greatest industry legends
and the newest emerging talent in the music scene,
Wychwood is incomparable. Get ready for the friend-
liest atmosphere in a stunning location to celebrate the
best yet Wychwood Festival weekend ever.
