From North Devon
to Carterton
13th May
One local man in particular will be
remembered in May, as his family pay
tribute to him by raising money for The
Brain Tumour Charity.
Originally from North Devon, Max
Norman lived in Carterton for 25 years.
He served for 22 years in the Royal
Air Force, and sadly passed away in
September last year after fighting a brain
tumour since 2013.
“27 people are diagnosed with a brain
tumour every day, but less than 2% of
cancer research funding in the UK is
spent on brain tumour research. The
Brain Tumour Charity is at the forefront
of the fight to defeat brain tumours,
making a difference every day to the
lives of people with brain tumours and
their families” (The Brain Tumour
Charity, 2016).
Max’s family would like to help the
charity continue their work, so Max’s
Brother Geoff and three of his friends are
being sponsored to cycle over 150 miles
from North Devon to Carterton, arriving
on the afternoon of Friday 13th May. They
will be met in Carterton Market Square
by some of Max’s friends and family, who
will be running a cake stall and raffle.
The family would be delighted to see you
there, and 100% of the proceeds will be
donated to The Brain Tumour Charity.
