Stonewall Cymru “Over the past 10 years
Welsh employers have been using our
index to develop a culture where lesbian,
gay and bisexual staff can be themselves
and perform better as a result. Each year
we are pleased to see the progress being
made by organisations throughout Wales
and this year is no different. Ten Welsh
employers feature in Stonewall’s Top 100
Employers 2014.
In a ceremony kindly supported by
Eversheds, we were joined by Jeff
Cuthbert AM, Minister for Communities
and Tackling Poverty, as we awarded our
top performing Welsh employers. These
included our ‘Top Welsh Public Sector
Employer’ National Assembly for Wales,
and Barclays our ‘Top Welsh Private
Sector Employer’.
The very best employers in Wales
are going much further than meeting
legislative requirements. For them
equality is a fundamental part of their
business offering. This year a number of
our top employers have increased their
engagement with the LGB community,
introduced mentoring schemes to
develop visible and empowered LGB
role models, and encouraged everyone
