to show their support for LGB equality
through initiatives such as straight allies
programmes.
But there is still lots to do. Despite
progress made by many employers
across Britain, our research has shown
that 2.4m people of working age
have witnessed verbal homophobic
bullying at work and a quarter of LGB
employees are not out to anyone at all
in the workplace. Creating fairer and
more productive workplaces remains
a huge priority for us. We’ve recently
launched a new campaign to highlight
the issue and we continue to work with
the employers of over a quarter of the
Welsh workforce through our Diversity
Champions programme.
At Stonewall Cymru, we won’t rest until
homophobia in the workplace is truly
a thing of the past. We’re delighted
that, despite economic pressures, more
organisations have committed to
working with us than ever before. We’re
looking forward to working with them
to ensure Wales’ 184,000 gay people can
live and work without fear of prejudice.”
The Visible Project is a dedicated
