North Wales Police, committed to equality
North Wales Police is once again proud to be
supporting North Wales Pride the regions largest
event celebrating the diversity of Lesbian, Gay, Bi-
sexual and Transgender life. This year’s celebration
hopes to build upon the unqualified success of
last year’s inaugural event and will once again be
situated within the grounds of the picturesque
Hendre Hall, Bangor with stunning views of the
Snowdonia National Park.
North Wales Police are once again supporting
this important cultural event and as part of the
organising committee we hope attendees have a
fantastic weekend and enjoy their time in North
Wales the vision of the committee is to create an
exciting event with the aim of bringing the LGBT
and wider communities together and celebrate
diversity in a safe and fun environment. Chief
Constable Mark Polin, who will be attending
the event said: “We want everyone living in and
visiting the North Wales region to be able to
go about their lives in safety and free from the
fear of Hate Crime. In supporting events such
as North Wales Pride we are demonstrating that
we take the concerns of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual
and Transgender communities seriously and by
working together we can bring about an end to
Homophobic and Transphobic Hate Crime.”
This year’s event will have a Pride Market Place
and a stalls area, it is here that you’ll be able
to make contact with the North Wales Police
Diversity Unit who will be on hand to offer advice
and guidance on a number of matters including,
our successful LGBT staff network ‘Enfys’ (Welsh
for Rainbow); Enfys was honoured by LGB
Charity Stonewall this year and was singled out as
a ‘Star Performer Network’. You will also be able
to see how we celebrate Diversity across North
Wales, as well as pick information on how to
recognise and report a hate crime. You can also
speak to our staff about how to join the wider
policing family in North Wales.
